It messes with the soil after 10 years the land is barren

You don't need to destump since the stumps will generate with 2 -3 trees shoots and no need to replant

Streams and water sources have dried up because of this tree

Its good to be educated clonal Eucalyptus do not have massive taproots on fibrous roots that grow to maximum of 4 meters depth your acacia trees uses more water per annum than one clonal Eucalyptus tree

I planted eucalyptus grandis in 2007...sold some at 10k for timbers...the remaining one are so big n huge....good for investment

These trees are not eco-friendly. They damage the environment. I took my neighbor to court for planting so many of them around the border which caused a lot of damage to my crops and borehole

We are also selling some blue gum eucalyptus trees and got a quote for Ksh 1800 a tonne. Is this worth it or should we charge per tree.

An acre will take 650 trees planted at a spacing of 2.5m X 2.5m(Ideal for transmission poles, roundpoles, fitos, firewood, fencing posts)

Kes1800 per tonne is not worth it. Leave, a tonne is about 6 mature trees, consider charging per tree instead.

3m*2.5m gives you aprox 600 trees and the lesser the space the thinner the trees due to competition.

Don't just plant any eucalyptus seedling.Know your ecological zone first then consult on the specie best suited for it.For instance E. grandis grows faster, usually has straighter trunk and has good quality timber but it cannot survive in arid and semi arid areas.-BioTech Karura
